I am not really a pizza person, and stumbled across this place by accident. Tamarind of London was closed for lunch on a Monday. I was impressed. This is a spacious and elegant place with high ceilings, trees (merging the inside with the outdoors), and the tables were far apart. The earthy relaxed and unpretentious tones reminded me more of the Four Season on the Big Island of Hawaii than of a pizza place. The pizza was excellent; the salads were excellent - fresh and nicely presented. The service was very timely and graceful. I will definitely be back and will recommend this establishment.

Food was good but relative to the price and the atmosphere was a bit of a stretch in terms of being great to wonderful - this is likely due to them being a newer enterprise as they still havent figured out the local neighborhood and timing of the lunch crowd I suppose. They did not have the porcini balls ready for a lunch party seated at 1230pm - that was dissapointing pizza was very good but not stellar - for a 17- 20 pie to feed 1 -2 people you expect something amazing. I have no doubt they will get it right as the menu and ingredients are 4 to 5 star - just need to work on the execution. Drink list looked very nice - will check it out for drinks and apps versus a meal going forward. Want them to get better so I can get them a higher rating

Pretty good pizza. It's soft crust pizza. However, there is essentially nothing else on the menu besides pizza, unless you want a salad or appetizers. The actual restaurant is really interesting--the building has an open roof and trees growing inside so it almost feels like you're outside.

This is a beautifully designed restaurant, open air style that resembles dining in an Italian piazza somewhere in Firenze. Menu features pizza, salads and antipasto. Waitress began by giving us an unnecessary education in what Neapolitan is, but she was very pleasant and attentive. We found it curious that the pizza chefs working behind full length glass are dressed all in black whilst working with flour. White kitchen wardrobe would give a better image of kitchen cleanliness. Salads and pizzas were outstanding however, very nicely done. Martinis were crafted to specifications. Given the geographical location, prices were reasonable, pizzas around $14, salads about $9. One salad splits three ways nicely. We'll be back.

Great drinks. Great pizza. Great ambiance. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice evening out. If you are a couple it is very romantic. There are real olive trees planted inside with cozy leather couches. But it's also family friendly at the same time. We had the settebello pizza which was awesome. THe drinks were sweet but strong. Definitely coming back.

The most fantastic architecture and perfect view of the ocean!! The best customer service! Our waiter and bar tender were very attentive and genuine. Amazing carabonara pizza. Delicate wine and THE BEST SCONE BALLS FILLED WITH NUTELLA that go by the name of bombalini!!! Coming back in a heart beat!

I would give it 5 stars but they don't have affogato. The best Neapolitan pizza. Must try the Diavlo.

Ask them to thoroughly cook your pizza... Otherwise you're gonna get a mouthful of cheesy dough. Brought my lover here last night to check out the newest spot on the crystal cove strip mall. Sadly we both had stomach problems later that we are attributing to this place. -bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates: Tasty little nuggets.. 5 for $10. We think this is where we got sick. -polenta bites: they're pretty big bites... Great flavors here with some earthy mushrooms and asparagus... But don't try to deep throat it all at once unless you're a seasoned pro at things like that. -forgot the name of the salad but it was arugula with prosciutto and artichoke hearts. Way over dressed. It was drenched in balsamic. Ask for the dressing on the side. -the one pizza we had was tomato and corn with goat cheese. It was ok. It would have been better cooked through, but that's just a personal preference. This Naples style thing isn't really my bag. -fried dough filled with Nutella. This was pretty awesome. I think is come back just for those little delicious fried balls. Service was good. We had this lanky little thing named Matt. Adorable. He was doing his best and was very helpful with recommendations. We were happy we didn't get the middle aged homeless man. He looked mildly crazy and could possibly live in his van behind the property. It's amazing what a razor and a hot shower can do to a person. He should try it. Wine list is heavy on Italian wines. I noticed many tables brought their own California wines... Perhaps management should think about adding more local bottles to the list. I bet they'd sell more. Also, let me know if you're having issues reading the menu... I think it's the graph paper they printed them on. It's disruptive to the eye and scatters your vision making it difficult to decipher what the hell is written. I'm probably just old and bitchy AND blind.

Always good food, service, drink menu, and parking. The Zin, warm olives, warm beets, and crostini ... leather couch ... light airy atmosphere ... Ahhh!

Great location, great design, the food was terrible, The service even worse, sat at the bar bartender made me feel like We owed him something. How do you fuck up a cheese pizza. I don't know how people give this place 4 stars save your money go to another place, place is a joke.

A cat bitten once by a snake dreads even rope. ~Arab Proverb Well, I'd like to think that we're a little better than that but after having enjoyed many great pizzas the world over, this one does call for a bit of learned appreciation. It's just that the Napoli style of pizza here is rather unlike what most of us are used to here in America. It's not crisp or particularly bread-like, nor is it supposed to be. That doesn't mean it's not flavorful and thoughtfully prepared- it's just different and fully traditional. Now, after three visits, I can say that it's a style I can get used to, although I'm pretty happy that there's another place on Forest Avenue in Laguna that has the polar opposite pizza, just so we have the variety to choose from. Shortly after their opening, service was particularly good and the server did well about explaining the style of food and other options. He obviously enjoyed his new employment. A few weeks later, our server was somewhat lackadaisical. Our latest server was adequate, if not inspired, although I doubt the tattoos were particularly Neopolitan. Our choice of the Panzanella salad was not well received and we wished we had stuck with the Insalata as we had on our first visit. Those croutons did not seem like they were of this century, even if we made allowance that this was an intended Italian style. However, we tried the Bruschetta on the last visit and can say the flavor was excellent, especially the pesto sauce side serving. The Margherita pizza was lovely, remembering again that this is a different "wet and wild" style. It helps if you come from a culture, as we do, that normally eats pizza with a knife and fork. I think other reviewers suggestion than the menu is limited is a fair statement and especially in the area of dessert. A nice affogato added and a Nutella dish deleted would be a good start. Given the usual tendency in the area to charge Newport prices, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to give up an extra kitten or two at the door as payment. The decor is more than interesting and the open air roof looks like it should be fun come rainy season. A few birds in the interior trees could add some additional charm. Perhaps the worst issue is the contention for parking places with patrons from Javiers but as long as you want to trust your Range Rover to the valet, you've got no problems at all.

Well that was very disappointing ! At least 10 minutes for any server to speak to us, ordered our drinks .... Server vanishes to never reappear. So after at least another 10 minutes with no server, no drinks we leave. Luckily Javier's is just steps away !!!!

Hooray for yummy gluten-free pizza!! Oh so gooood!! Great cocktails as well! The ambiance is different than most other places in OC and makes for a great place to go with someone to catch up!

Beautiful new Italian restaurant in Newport Coast! I would of missed it if I did not see the sign very small ! It looks empty from the outside hard to tell its a restaurant, but once you walk in it very beautiful ! Big Olive trees and very Mediterranean feel. Nice menu we shared a mixed salad delicious and a sausage pizza. Service was nice not pushy but then there were only 3 tables with guest at 12:30? I guess people don't know about them yet. I would come more often if it was closer to home. Will come back to try something different for sure!!!

I finally got to try out Settebello last night and my party (5 adults, 6 kids) had a great time! Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, maybe they tried it out when the store first opened and there were growing pains, but when we went the food and service were spot on. The appetizers were good, the bread (foccacia) was excellent, loved the meat selection, and the pizzas were thoroughly cooked and delicious! The server was on the ball with bringing food and drinks out and was always checking in on us to make sure we were satisfied. Of course we ordered the nutella pizza with strawberries (which was awesome but like others have stated it definitely could use ice cream with it) and since it was my cousins birthday they gave us some type of fried donut with nutella in it free of charge! Those donuts were freaking good! I loved the ambience of the place, high ceilings, breezy ( bring a jacket it can get cold), the decor was cool with the wine rack wall, and they had real olive trees in the restaurant. Of course every time I go to a restaurant I have to check out their bathrooms, because c'mon if they can't keep a clean bathroom what does that say about their kitchen? Fortunately the bathroom was clean and very nice :D. There are only 2 downsides that I can think of, the parking was a bit of a pain since its part of a mall and there were set spaces designated for the mall. You may have to park a distance away and then walk over, not really that big of a deal. They don't have a kids menu, they have kid size pizzas but that's about it. Would defintely go back again, food is tasty and it was a fun time!

Settebello has some of the most delicious and most authentic Italian food I have ever had in the area. I was born and raised in Italy, so I'm a little picky when it comes to Italian food. The quality of the food is superb, the presentation gorgeous, the service impeccable and friendly, the restaurant half indoors, half outdoors. Whatever the occasion is you come for - the atmosphere there elevates it. The chef takes special pride in making everything from scratch. You can see him through the glass window and I observed his passion while he prepares the food. I didn't want to ever leave and just stay sitting on those nice soft chairs and keep eating more and more. I really love Settebello and can't wait to go back.

The interior is beautifully designed. Simple, but elegant ambiance of being outside with live trees throughout the restaurant. Great variety of Italian sausages and pizzas and the kids love to watch the cooks making the food. My new favorite restaurant.

The ambiance to Settebello is amazing, it's a beautiful restaurant inside. But the food is meh... I met up with a friend in Newport beach and we decided to try Settebello. We split a salad and a pizza. The salad was super small, had hardly any veggies in it, and cost $11, it was really a small side salad and not a main salad as advertised on the menu. The pizza was nothing special either. We asked for extra sauce since it had hardly any on it and the server brought out lukewarm marinara. For the prices and other reviews I was expecting a lot more than what I got.

Skip it! Restaurant was freezing. Open air places great for summer...but sitting through dinner with jackets and scarfs on was uncomfortable. Ordered Charcuterie appetizer with cheese ($25). 3 different types of salamis, none that special and 1 cheese. It came with 5 pieces of bread - there were 4 of us. Asked for more bread and were charged $2 for three more slices. The total bill for 4 was over $200 - place has a lot of nerve charging for extra slice of bread. Rest of food was no better. Ordered a salad - inedible between the bitter greens snd over sour dressing. Pizza was soggy, and yes, I've had Naples style pizza, but raw dough is raw dough. Fried pizza dough for dessert. Nothing special. Service average. Drive a few more minutes north to Mozza.

The restaurant is stunningly gorgeous but the menu is limited and lacks diverse choices such as chicken, fish, pork etc. It's always empty in the restaurant and am hoping the owners figure out a fix soon to the menu to bring in the customers. We're in desperate need of great restaurants in the area and Settebello has such high potential if they course correct asap.

We had the margarita pizza, after living in New York I'm constantly searching for New York style pizza, this was by far the closest I have had yet. Great Italian wine selection, service was attentive.

I agree with JM, I read the reviews that were fair and thought were you at a different restaurant?? Fantastic food, atmosphere and staff!! What a gem, i think they have a perfect variety for all but come on people let's be serious, this is a GREAT Neo pizza place, why do you want a broader menu??? I say stick to what you are good at and let the bigger menu people go to hmmmm a basic bland place with 200 items. Thank you for some awesome food those stuffed dates are dreamy and the pizza crust wow!!!

I went to Settebello last night for dinner (thur) around 7pm with a group of 4 ppl total Decent crowd, but no where near what I define as "busy" (picture Fig n Olive, Mastros , Red O, Pizzeria Moza or Javiers on a Thursday). At first glance, the interior/ambience was great ...very open, feels like the entire restaurant is a patio outdoors), but my compliments end there. After we were seated, the server came and took drink orders...then brought drinks 1 at a time over a 20 minute time period. There were two bartenders serving the entire restaurant/bar area (no service bar). Slightly taken aback, the server asked if we were ready to order, we said yes, he walked away. Came back, repeat, then on third time he asked, he finally took our order. We ordered stuffed chiles (app), 2 salads and 2 pizzas. One pizza came out (diavola) right away (we were expecting the courses to be app, salad, then pizza). It was super spicy and undercooked. We didn't say anything but when the appetizer came out, it was pathetic. 3 burnt peppers, stuffing fell out, scattered on a 4x4 plate for $8. We sent it back. Salads came, one was good but second was underdressed. Don't order the Involtini salad! It was two lumps of lettuce wrapped in a prosciutto piece. There was no dressing on the salad! Only a few drops on plate as decor. At this point, we have been there for an hour......30 minutes late, our second pizza (Settebello) came out burnt on crust with a soggy middle. At this point, asked for the manager. As a local, we can understand a restaurants "growing pains" but this was awful. I would not go back nor would I recommend anyone to go, not even to try it out. There are plenty of places like this one, in newport that serve better food and have better service (Canaletto HH pizzas are $6, pizzeria mozza, Sapori).

Went here on a Monday and it wasn't too crowded (we made reservations anyways). The interior is gorgeous, opening up to the sky and giving an outdoor feel. The service was pretty good, not overly attentive but not inattentive. If I were to guess, they do this so that you don't feel bothered (as some restaurants take the service aspect to the point of annoying). The food was all very good. We had the polenta bites, bacon wrapped dates, meat and cheese plate (definitely recommend!) and of course, pizza. My one complaint was the size of the appetizer plates. Honestly, they should be embarrassed to bring out what they did. The plate had 5 small dates, and was $10. It was actually comical. The pizza was good, traditional Neapolitan pizza. There weren't many options for meats on the pizzas, which is something you commonly see at similar restaurants. The pizza was a good size for one person, maybe to split if you are both light eaters. I would probably come here again for the ambiance, but you can get as good or better food at similar restaurants such as Fuoco. You are really paying a premium for the location, but that is to be expected.

Very average. Looks nice and service good. In a world where we have pizza Mozza and then you go to this place it is sad. Their signature pizza with the ever played out toppings is just plain tasteless. I literally had to add salt to the pizza. Nice interior but it feels like a good attempt but just poor delivery. Deserts are full of fried pizza dough??? No homemade gelato? The most creative they could get on pizza was Brussel sprouts??? Is this 2012? I bet they are out if business in 12 months.

Such a nice remodel and build out. Wines assortment good but No concept of what we want to eat in this area. Feh. Pass

  • Kent B.

Extremely disappointing and won't return. The location and atmosphere are good, but not enough to overcome the bad food. If you like bread, you'll be OK as they have figured out how to maximize margins through the serving of everything with bread. I'd give the pizza a "C"; crust thin, but limp and underdone. The toppings ran across the pizza quickly as they were sparse. The menu is limited and everything contains bread or cheese. In a town with great restaurants, there are too many good options for this place to stay around for long. Go elsewhere.

I was excited to try this place for the first time and the ambiance was great! The warm beets we started with were under whelming. Then we had some pizzas and they were ok but the crust is not crispy at all. We were told that the crust would come out like this and I decided to allow them to do it their style but I didn't like it. The others requested crispier crust but I am not sure it made a difference, no one was too excited about the food. The pizza dough with Nutella was really good for dessert though. But we probably won't be coming again.

I concur with J.M.'s review. Listen not to a patron who prefers a place called Sgt Pepperoni (I'm sure it's a fine establishment) or one who goes to an open air restaurant on a chilly evening and complains when it's cold. Look for reviews that comment fairly on the food, service, and ambience. I wandered in on a rainy afternoon looking for a light lunch. While I did not have a pizza, they did look delicious and authentic much like those I have sampled in Naples and other Italian cities. I look forward to going back to try one. Instead, I opted for a prosciutto wrapped arugula salad and warm olives. I added a nice glass of Italian red wine. All of it was delicious. The interior of the restaurant was reminiscent of rustic Italy. I thought the olive trees within the interior was a nice touch. If you're worried about price, there's a Zpizza 100 yards away. If not, go inside, choose one of several seating options, linger, and eat your food and drink your wine or cocktail slowly. Enjoy the experience and don't try to be a food critic.

Best pizza! I recommend the Doc pizza, it is made with buffalo muzzerella and tomatoes from Italy and thin crust, very authentic. The oven is from Italy! Wish they would have a better happy hour!

Went twice in one week! Food is very good salad was excellent. The pizza is cooked in a wood fire oven giving the thin crust just the right amount of crispy chewy goodness that Italian style pizza is known for. If you're expecting American style pizza this is not the place for you, the pizza is way on the traditional side and delish! We had Lori as our server and she is very informative and polite. The pizza can take a bit of time because there is only one oven for the whole restaurant but it's worth the wait. The Bianca, & Quattro formaggio, were my fav so far. Atmosphere is coastal casual with a good mix of people.

Lively atmosphere, large indoor-outdoor space with rustic design in Crystal Cove center. We ordered bruschetta and prosciutto with buratta for appetizers. The portions were actually larger than I was expecting and they all tasted great. We also ordered the margarita pizza and the diovala pizza, both were great. Diovala was spicy! They also have very good beers on tap. I'll be back.

Gorgeous interior, delicious food, great staff. Went for lunch and the front doors were open and a wonderful ocean breeze blew throughout the place. Share a pizza and a salad and it was just the right amount of food. Iced tea was freshly brewed and if you're a fan of pellet ice, you will love the ice here. Looking forward to getting one of their specialty cocktails next time we come.

The menu is very limited. Pizzas not consistent. We have been to a Settebello in another location that was good. This one is beautiful, but doesn't follow through with the menu items (i.e., pizza selection, deserts). We've given them feedback, but just got excuses and nothing has changed. Sad, because we were really hoping this place would be one we could put on our 'circuit' of restaurants. Lots of choice in Newport, so probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

I never thought I'd find decent Napoli Style Pizza in Orange County but this is the place! Great pizza, light, tasty and well priced. Enjoyed the ambiance and service was right on. We will definitely be back!!

This was our first time at Settebello after receiving a mailer offering for a free pizza. We usually don't take people up on these offers, but decided to give it a try on a beautiful sunny afternoon in Newport just before sunset The restaurant is beautiful with large full length glass windows, live olive trees planted in the floor, a large bar with seating as well as tables, booths and lounge chairs. Service was great and the servers were knowledgeable and professional, timing everything so it came out at the right time. We ordered wine by the glass, a Hahn Pinot Noir, a Cabernet and then tried a Zinfandel. At $12 per glass, we thought that was a little high in price and the glasses were small/small pours. For a Pinot, the size of the glass does make a difference where the aroma is an integral part. Friends of ours have been to the Settebello in Marina Del Rey and they have a happy hour from 5-7 where drinks are $3 off. This would be nice to see in Newport Coast. We split the Caprese salad - and it was perfect for 2 with extra large slices of ripe tomato, basil and mozzarella. We selected the Settebello pizza and the Diabla pizzas. Both were delicious and one pizza would certainly be enough for 2 people. Pizzas are $14-$18 and are well priced for the quality. We would order the Diabla pizza again and ask for less red pepper for it was very hot/spicy. A lot of Yelp reviews about Settebello are about "soggy pizza" where everything falls off in the first bite - clearly written by people that are expecting something like ZPizza or even CPK This is Napoletana pizza - with crunchy crust and wet interior (what some here would call soggy), it is unsliced and eaten with a knife and fork or folded over. Don't go to an authentic Napoletana pizzeria and then complain because the pizza is authentic. Pizzas are cooked quickly in their 1000 degree ovens (straight from Naples). We give this a 4 and hope that the minor flaws can be ironed out over time. We'll definitely be coming here often.

With anticipation, I ordered two pizzas to go from Settebello. The key to a good pizza is how the crust is cooked. IMHO crappy crust, crappy pizza PERIOD

  • Italian L.

I had pizza at Settebello twice, and I am pretty satisfied. If you expect the heavy American pizza, overloaded with cheap cheese and toppings, this place is not for you (which is OK: there are so many places that make the thing that you call pizza, but has nothing to do with real pizza). The pizza at Settebello is the Neapolitan-style one, and it is pretty authentic. I personally like the Roman-style pizza better than the Neapolitan-style, but I have not yet found a spectacular Roman-style pizza in the US. I think that the pizza can be cooked for one minute longer to be a little more crunchy, but if this is what you like, just ask your server. The pizza with Nutella is a great dessert: we were full from the pizza, but still finished it. One not-so-great aspect of Settebello is the service. Some of the waiters have no idea about the food and I had the impression that they never worked in a restaurant before. I hope that their service will improve with time. Also, they do not accept reservations if your party is less than 6 people, but I went there at 7.30-8 and did not have to wait to be seated.

Good food. Service slightly amiss but nothing too serious. Open air in places, but the windows allow too much sun. A few tables difficult to seat because of this. It's also noisy. A couple of tables up front near the sliding glass doors would be nice for our next visit.

I gave this restaurant 5 stars looking at it in total. The restaurant is warm, open and comfortable. it is not noisy or filled with big screen TV's. If you want that kind of ambiance, go somewhere else. The food for the price point is excellent. We had several of the appetizers, salads and pizzas. They were very good. I've paid a lot more for less quality in other places. The drink prices are reasonable as well. Settebello is not a happening place. It is a place where you can have a good meal, a conversation and not feel cramped or rushed. I've been there many times with family and friends. it is one of my "go-to' restaurants.

  • M T.

We were excited to have a good pizza option closer to our house, but Settebello misses the mark in a few key areas. 1. The service is a little spotty, especially at the bar. The drinks are good, but if your'e eating at the bar don't expect great service. 2. The dessert menu lacks immigration. After eating a couple pizza, the last thing I want is another pizza dough-based dessert. Knowing that pizza is a core part of the menu, they could also be a lot more inventive. Several of the pizzas taste the same.

Love this place! Great food, great view, wonderful ambiance with olive tree inside open interior. Very affordable high impressive service. Order the charcuterie with burrata and get a focaccia bread. Enjoy with a glass of wine. Pizza dough is amazing, best I have ever had. I would only suggest placing more sauce on the pizza. I have eaten hear 3 times since it opened 2 weeks ago. Newport Beach needs more beach side dining like this restaurant. If you travel to Europe and go anywhere like Niece, their are 1000s of restaurants and always packed. It is sad to see the very few nice restaurants we have in OC are only busy Fri and Sat nights. Come on OC people, go out and enjoy life more! You only live once, enjoy life, it's actually cheaper to eat out than cook your own food! Anyways sorry to go on a tangent, you will enjoy this place! Gourmet Pizza is always a win.

I spent a long day at the beach and after getting ready for a fun night I needed a new and exciting atmosphere to just take a deep breath and unwind for a exciting dinner , I can say the whole experience from being seated to being served by "danielle" ask for her AWSOME :) Then my bacon wrapped dates, and spicy white sauce pizza ahhh it was a wild spin on pizza to the basic pizza lover, but I will forever compare all pizza to this delicious new flavor , to end my great evening the manager "Lori" greeted me before I paid my bill and made sure I had enjoyed everything and I will definitely bring my close friends for a fun dinner very soon keep it up guys your awesome !

This is hands down the most disgusting pizza I've ever had. The gluten free crust is straight up rubber. I can't believe I spent even a dollar on that disgusting food. Service was amazing and it's a beautiful. Food sucks

  • Sue B.

atmosphere was great---but it was cold. The food was basic. Got the beet and polenta appetizers. The pizza, which they want to be the star, was burnt. They need to clean the wood oven. Will we be back? Maybe, I will watch the YELP reviews. We want too-- such a great design for a restaurant.

The waiter had to be reminded to bring the drinks we ordered and it took an hour for the flat, salty crusted burnt $17 individual pizza to arrive. There are very few things on the menu. Big room with tall ceilings- no separate rooms just one big room with s few trees inside.

  • Kent S.

This is a really nice "space" and a place that i would enjoy spending time with friends but we went there because of the "wood fired" oven and the promise of true Neopolitan Pizza. The space was great, the wine list was OK but the pizza, unfortunately was lacking. We ordered 4 different pizzas and they all arrived at the table undercooked. and were only ok from a flavor perspective. I pursue world class pizza all over the world and unfortunately Settebello fell short of the mark. They certainly have the potential to improve their offerings as they have only been open for 3 months but right now it would be worth the 10 minute drive up the coast to go to Pizzeria Mozza also in Newport Beach. Significantly better Pizza and wine list. We will give them one more try before we give up.

  • Sonny L.

The portion of the dishes were too small. we had a group of 7 and we ordered 4 pizza and 2 appetizer. The pizza seemed like it was half cooked because everything on top was slimy and falls off while trying to consume the pizza. For the appetizer, we had the Bell pepper with cheese filling (forgot the name). The Bell pepper is pretty spicy, and the cheese is goat cheese which is like a sour cheese. And the other appetizer, we had the bacon wrapped sausage (i think) it was really good! But the portion is real bummer. When the waiter brought it to our table we were left speechless as there was only 4 tiny pieces, (smaller than a quarter for each piece). I would not recommend this place, this place is considered fine dining for pizza and Italian food and what not, but dominos will beat their pizza anyday. The bill was $100 for a group of 7 and we were not satisfied one bit with the food. We ended going to another place to eat after because the portion and the quality of the pizzas were so bad!

After waiting what seemed like a year for Settebello Newport Beach to open, it finally did. We visited it for a late lunch during its first week of operation. The interior design is odd. When you enter this somewhat upscale pizzeria you see a very nice bar in the left one third of the room, a patio-like area in the center that has no roof over it but is open to the sky above and a covered dining room in the right one third of the restaurant. Where is the star of the restaurant; the beautiful wood fired pizza oven imported from Naples? It is in the kitchen in the right rear of the restaurant and to see it you have to walk over to the kitchen and look through a window. Odd. The wine list includes only two red wines from California. There are many unknown Italian wines on the list. We ordered two glasses of a California red wine, the Insalata Grande to share, a Vica Pizza and a Settebello Pizza. The red wine was not good...I don't recall its name. The Insalata Grande was medium in size, not large. The dressing was overly oily and needed some acid like lemon. I did not like the Vica Pizza. It was bland and the Mascarpone cheese threw the flavor off. The Settebello Pizza was good. Both pizzas needed garlic and basil. Additionally, the pizzas are served on room temperature white ceramic plates and consequently they cool off very quickly and then are not as good. We suggested to the manager that the plates should be heated so the pizzas don't cool off as quickly. He seemed somewhat interested in our comments. Overall, our experience was disappointing. We will probably return...but we're not in any great hurry to do so.

An excellent pizza and Italian style restaurant in Newport Beach. The indoor/outdoor concept is relaxing and the food is great. The service is good as is the bar. Try one of the craft cocktails or the specialty appetizers. Best bet is a Neapolitan style pizza including the DOC style with high quality rated and imported ingredients. Fun for lunch, dinner, or a weekend afternoon. Manager and servers are very contentious and care about their reputation. Anything that isn't up to your expectation they quickly fix address or offer an alternative. That's a rare trait in the fast paced restaurant culture these days.

By far the worst in food and service. Starting with the blonde female hostess who gave me a once over like I was a someone she wanted to serve or seat and the male host just the same. Offering the bar to us when the restaurant was dead. Followed by the food which was minimal at best. A piece of advice. Your restaurant is in a very well established community, and your not packed. Hmmmm why? You are competing with many great restaurants who know how to treat costumers and also have great food. Start by greeting customers with kindness and end with a decent meal. You won't last if you don't know who your serving and what your serving. Just a tip!

I've been to 2 other locations of settebello but this location has the best space. It's spacious, has open doors to the outside and olive trees inside. The bar is big and has an inviting space as well. The food was great as always we had the salad, crispy polenta bites and some pizzas. I love how they carry hot chili oil too like in Italy. The only problem I had that deterred me a little was the cleanliness of the bathroom. Looked like no one had checked up on it for days!

Came here for a late lunch as the restaurant does not open until noon (I like to eat early). The restaurant is beautiful and is built in an environmentally friendly way with olive trees in the middle of the restaurant extending from the ground. Italian pop music streams throughout the restaurant and depending on where you are seated, you will/will not get a view of the pizza oven. We ordered some appetizers including: Crostini Anchovie -- topped with boquerones which were perfectly marinated, not overly vinegary Involtini -- prosciutto wrapped arugula. They were pretty generous parcels so be careful of how many appetizers you order if you want to leave room for pizza. Panzenella -- absolutely loved this. One of the best Italian bread salads I've eaten. Great dressing! Now for the pizzas: I always order a Margherita just to see how they fare. This is pretty much the standard to go by. The one here was good, but like all good Napoletana pizzas, was wet in the middle -- this one was especially so. Loved the one with fennel sausage. The one with corn was interesting as I've never had pizza with corn before, plus, the balsamic roasted tomatoes were fantastic.

Settebello is a gorgeous new restaurant in Newport Coast that offers a great ambiance but a forgettable Pizza. To say that that Settebello was flying under the radar with their opening in Crystal Cove is an understatement. I had no idea this restaurant existed prior to Dan H. inviting me to grab a bite for Newport Beach Restaurant Week. The interior of the restaurant is incredible; bright, airy and wide open spaces with mature trees growing out of the floor and a (somewhat obstructed) view of the Pacific Ocean. The waitstaff is completely on point as well, from the Mixologists to the floor Manager, everyone was both friendly and professional throughout the meal. Settebello's menu is centered around Pizza Napoletana which is a soft crust pizza that they flash bake for about a minute in their smoking hot oven. All of the ingredients are hand selected and can come from as far as Naples, Italy. I chose to go with my personal favorite Napoletana offering; the Margherita which features crushed Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Basil, Parmigiano Reggiano and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I can attest to the quality of the ingredients and care that goes into each pie. The pizza was an attractive beauty, no doubt. But how did it taste? Well, in a word... muted. The cheeses did not offer the nuttiness or creaminess I was expecting and the Mozzarella fell off of the slices as little coagulated globs onto my plate which was disappointing. The crushed Tomatoes and Basil were the standout attractions which brings me to the real issue with Settebello: their crust. Neapolitan pies are very soft, well... their crusts are anyways. If you try to fold and eat one like a NYC Pizza, it will literally fall to pieces in your hands. When I tried the knife and fork technique the toppings would simply slide off the crust. I ended up having to manipulate each topping and the crust bite for bite to get the full flavor profile. It was pretty annoying honestly. As the pie cools, the worse the issue becomes. The Rucola Salad on the other hand was commendable, if not delicious. Fresh and peppery Baby Arugula and Lemon Juice & Extra Virgin Olive Oil are tossed and plated on top of lines of Balsamic. This is a perfect Salad for a hot summer day and the presentation was particularly pleasing. It is unlikely that I would visit Settebello again for Pizza alone, but I could see a Happy Hour stop for appetizers and drinks or a light lunch with another order of the Rucola Salad again in the future.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The King of Water was our waiter and he is the best! Great personality and great service! The food here is good but the charcuterie board needs "beefing" up a bit! I will come back for the Jalapeño, Cucumber Vodka Martini that Sahil made for me. Very casual and comfortable setting!!!

needs to go to "welcome" "service" restaurant school ASAP... Unfortunately they won't make it, so no bother. 5 of us, sat there for 10mn, restaurant was empty on a Sat night (should've known...) Walked out as no one wanted to be bothered, 3 hostesses talking to each other, no one could get us a waiter... I've been here 4 times (based on convenience as I live up the street) and I like the food. Never again. Hire a GM, put him at the door and run the hospitality show please. Laurent OC Restaurateur.

There is no service here - common sense restaurant 101 is non-existent. I've now walked twice out after waiting 10 mins in vain for waiter or even water. I've even talked to Matt the manager both occasions. He is nice but clueless about customer service. Too bad because the atmosphere is really nice. Hope next owners keep everything but servers and management. Horse but true.

Nothing special. The pizza is good and authentic but not worth the price. You are paying about $3-4 premium for the location. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was half empty and the average age of patrons about 60. Service was slow. Nothing to write home about. The misto appetizer was good but not worth $18. The salad was good but the amount of pine nuts excessive.

I love this place. The interior is so inviting and relaxing. Comfy chairs and couches to sit back and relax in. An inviting bar with attentive bartenders. A tree growing in the middle of the space up to a huge skylight. Glass walls that open up on nice days so you can enjoy the ocean breeze. The food is also really good. The menu is pretty limited. Pizza and appetizers. But what they do, they do good. The bacon wrapped dates are little bites of deliciousness. I also really enjoy the Panzanella salad. Each pizza I've had has been really, really good. I like my crust cooked more than what seems to be their norm so I started asking for it to be well done, although the way it comes out normally is good too. The ingredients are fresh and savory. I love their sausage. They have a nice Happy Hour during the week and this place seems to attract a more mellow and laid back crowd than Javier's across the parking lot (which is sooooooo overrated). The vibe here is chill, relaxed and casual. A perfect place to go with friends or a date. It's even nice just going alone and having some "me" time. My new go-to spot!

Settebello is one of our favorite eateries in Southern California. It has fabulous pizza, a beautiful setting high above the ocean & a well-priced menu. One evening I'm going straight to the dessert pizza knots as my main course...they are divine so don't miss them.

Three of us hit this resto up on a Saturday afternoon for NB Restaurant Week. As I have noted before with these (fill in the blank with city/county) restaurant week deals, if you do the math most of the time you are getting a dessert for free. Since I am normally not much of a dessert fan, no big attraction IMO. But of course it's main purpose is to introduce us to local spots that we may not have discovered on our own. For that alone, I'm totally on board. If you go through the announcements carefully there are always a gem or two where something more savory is offered that will make the discount interesting enough for me to make a visit. An additional issue with me is that I am lazy, and unwilling to do the research and find those one or two gems. Enter one of my coworkers who not only did the research this year, she gave me her recommendation after paying Settebello a visit. As the first buddy that arrived shortly after me blurted out after he took half a minute to look around, "what a dump." Yes, he was being ridiculously facetious. The décor definitely makes an immediate impression with live trees growing out of the floor. The entire front of the resto is floor to ceiling windows, that really allows the natural light to fill the spacious space. I am sure it looks great in the evening, but I would recommend that you take your better half here some sunny afternoon. I was here with two buddies, and the ambience still impressed. So much for the look and feel, how about the taste? The NBRW menu was pizzas and salads. Doing the math here, you are getting a salad gratis. But these are not your usual iceberg with a slice of cucumber type of salad. No, these are worthy of a meal, or at least splitting with one or two dining mates if ordering some pizzas as well. My choice was their Insalata Grande: mixed greens, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, delish roasted mushrooms, Kalamata olives, pine nuts, shaved Parmigiano Reggiano, with a light balsamic vinaigrette. All participants were straight out of the garden fresh. Just a perfect start to a late afternoon lunch. My choice of pizza was the Diavola, topped with fresh tomatoes, Finnochiona (peppered salame), roasted red bell peppers, crushed red peppers, garlic, Mozzarella, and drizzled with olive oil. I definitely chose the hit of the list compared to my boyz selections. That Finnochiona made this a really special tasting pie, along with the very tasty roasted peppers, always a personal favorite. The crust was very soft but still nice and chewy. Don't get me wrong, I do love a thin crust which is what defines a Napoletana pizza, but this was literally paper thin. There is no way this crust could hold its weight under the toppings. Almost impossible to eat even with a knife and fork and not have the toppings do a slip and slide. I was OK with wrestling it to my mouth using two hands, so worth the trouble. I will leave it to you to decide if that is a good look for you or not. I must make mention of the great service we enjoyed. There was a little confusion regarding the NBRW menu since we had two different waiters/btenders. I had informed the first guy that we were here for the NBRW lunch not the dinner, but apparently that was not communicated to dude #2. Was there an uncomfortable silence on his part when I enlightened him, or any argument? Hell no, he grabbed our receipts and spun towards his POS and fixed them promptly, and with a smile. Will I return for the regular priced menu? Absolutely, most likely on another sunny afternoon to enjoy a pie and to sip another wine from their great by the glass list.

"Authentic Napoletana Pizza" Our Family truly enjoyed themselves last night during NPRW. The restaurant is spacious with a open airy feel, perfect place for families! Service was very friendly and efficient throughout. The pizza is traditional Italian style, light and sporty with fresh tasty ingredients. Just pick up a slice of pizza and fold it over and eat it like a quesadilla. The appetizers are fresh and flavorful. Try out the warm beets and the crisp polenta bites. You can't go wrong Hugh circular bar is a standout. Well stocked Bookmark Settebello for the entire family! Or if your just in the mood for a cocktail or glass of wine, small bites and something Italian, simply experience the Napoletana pizza.

The pizza here is killer! Be warned, it is very thin italian style pizza that can sometimes still be a bit doughy. That's how they do it. The Divola is freaking amazing.

Heard about this place in Pasadena and was excited they opened one in the OC since it's closer to me! FOOD: Polenta Appetizer (3.5 stars): Needs another strong flavor in there to make it amazing, but overall still good. The asparagus helped but still needed something. Margarita DOC Pizza (4 stars): Needs more basil but overall a good pizza. Good size to share. Nutella Pizza (4 stars): If they had ice cream to serve with this I would have been extremely happy. I actually asked the waiter for some but he said they don't serve it. He comes back and shows me a table where a guy brought his own tub of ice cream to put it on the nutella pizza himself! Smart person right there! I think it would have tasted better with strawberries too, so try adding that. C Street Mule Drink (5 stars): I could drink these all day. Get this if you like Moscow Mules. SERVICE (5 stars): Our waiter was awesome. Timed out our food perfectly. ATMOSPHERE (5 stars): So spacious and nice in here. Love how they have trees inside. The bar area looks nice as well. They have regular tables and couches to sit on too. Great place to relax and eat good pizza. Overall pizza is good, not the best I've had, but good. The atmosphere makes it worth it.

What a beautiful ambience and an even better happy hour menu. For $60 (for 2 people) we got 2 pizzas, artichoke crostini, and 4 beverages (2 beverages each). We accidentally ordered a pizza bianca (with corn and speck) and asked for sauce on the side. They graciously heated up their homemade sauce for us and served it on the side. It was delicious. The crust was so chewy and soft, while it also held up under the toppings. A good crust holds a place in my heart. I would love to come back to try the Nutella Pizza, however I was so so full after our meal. The portions (even at happy hour) are hearty. I recommend swinging by, sitting at the bar, and grabbing a bite to eat from 3-6. The ambience is gorgeous! I only took one star off for the prices on the regular menu. I suppose this is in the Crystal Cove Shopping Center, but still, ~$20 for a small-ish pizza is a bit much.

I like thin crust pizza, it's just right. This place has really thin pizza as in be careful it doesn't fall apart on you. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn't very busy which I like. The Crystal Cove parking lot was full, probably as people park for free and walk across to the beach.... Anyway, Settebello has a daytime area separated for their parking, look right in front of their entrance for the sign. It looks like it might be for valet but it's their restaurant free parking. I'm mostly a fan of their indoor outdoor theme with large windows, natural lighting and relaxed ambiance. The food is fine, nothing that wowed me, but the overal experience will make me want to go back.

After an incredible birthday experience last night, I may just have to have my wedding rehearsal dinner here next year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was the best pizza I have ever had. The server told us they cook the pizzas at 1000 degrees for one minute. They brought us Nutella dough balls with powdered sugar for my birthday dessert, it was unexpected and very generous. The quality and combination of the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. The service was incredible and the atmosphere is unique. They have trees in the middle of the restaurant and play old Italian movies on the back wall. This place is a modern rustic decor and is located in the beautiful Crystal Cove Center.

Picked up a takeout order from this place last night. Two pizzas and a caprese salad. I really enjoyed both the salad and my pizza. The ingredients were fresh and delicious and both items were quite tasty. I was looking forward to trying this place for a while and it certainly did not disappoint!

Neapolitan style pizza is a specialty at this pizzeria, probably because their pizza oven was flown in directly from Italy. Blasting heat from 900-1,000 degrees, this pizza oven makes pies within minutes. Chef's favorite is the Margherita Pizza with a shot of whiskey and pint of beer. His suggestion sums up the place.

Kind of pricey for a pizza? We got the gluten free. So hard to find.. It was okay. Still haven't found that great crust yet? Bummer! Not horrible, it will do. It was kind of doughy. I prefer more crispy almost cracker like. So if your gluten intolerant this is a place to get a fix. Hopefully they will master this.. Pizzas run $17 for 12 inch drinks are $11. It has a lovely atmosphere.

Went here for lunch. The Pizza was great. Very fresh and tasted amazing. The drinks were also very fresh. We tried old fashioned. It is very relaxed, which I enjoy. It is a perfect way to unwind. You can see the ocean as well, which is a plus. The pricing is also very reasonable.

Loved the whimsical ambiance of the indoor outdoor dining hall... Commend the server for adeptly and bravely corralling our rowdy group! Found the window into the soul of the kitchen a nice touch... But unfortunately found the food underwhelming... Bacon wrapped figs, Pizza w Calabrese peppers stood out in the crowd but the unbalanced flavor of the Bruschetta & both Salads & the way the 6 different pizzas we ordered managed to taste bland & oddly similar was where the detraction of Stars were made... The Bianca looks far more interesting on paper than she turns out to be in real life! I am usually a fan of Neapolitan style but if the magic isn't in the dough than there ain't a lot to write home about...

This is a delicious pizzeria with great ambiance, drinks and food! Don't mistake it for an "italian" restaurant. At Settebello you're coming for their traditional Napoletana pizza. The crust is very light, thin and almost fluffy, much lighter than what I am used to, but delicious none the less. With this style, the flavours of the toppings are able to pop more. And Settebello does a wonderful job of complementing flavours with their fresh ingredients. Not only is the food bomb, but the drinks are wonderful! Their bartenders are extremely knowledgable about all of the wines and spirits they have there. Lots of tasty craft cocktails. And if you are sitting at the bar, the bartenders give great recommendations! I'm a gin drinker, and had a specialty drink made just for me. Happy hour prices aren't bad, and it goes until 7PM which is always a plus. The ambiance is amazing, a semi-open ceiling and full olive tress growing in the middle of the restaurant make you feel like you're in the Mediterranean when it's a nice day out. They have heaters too for when it gets a little chillier, but if you are going on a cold day, a jacket is recommended. All in all a great spot!!

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The ambiance and location is perfect, and most importantly - the food is delicious! The pizza is large enough to split between two people if you add an appetizer to your order. My boyfriend and I ordered the Romana Salad, Crispy Polenta Bites, Settebello Pizza, and ended our meal with a Tiramisu. It was all very delicious, and definitely unique. The service was great, and the food was fresh! It was our first time, and we will definitely be returning soon.

Imagine a pizza lounge that closes 10pm, Orange County style. This shopping center is high end, surrounded by multimillion dollar homes, and a billion dollar view of Crystal Cove beach. You come here for the relaxed atmosphere, similar to the beach you have a view of, and not the excitement of Newport/Huntington. The restaurant has lounge chairs along the sides and front, but more as if it anticipates a long wait time for seating once business picks up than an actual bar lounge drink and get to talking to people type atmosphere. The open front and tall ceilings were a nice touch, especially for the ocean breeze you'll experience year round. The food was OK. The menu was OK, not bad but nothing exciting. Most places that have a limited selection has more of a variety. This place seems to have many pizzas, and thanks to it being cutesy in its adjectives/ingredients, its kinda hard to know whats what - but it all basically sounded the same. That's a shame because the two pizzas ordered were far from similar. Both were thin 'lavash' like pizza crust, a little heavy on the sauce, and rather soggy crust. The flavor was great but who wants soggy pizza? Please tell me that this place, which has so many other locations, can't get their opening month right. If its a dud in its first month, will it survive? Service. Ugh. Waiter creeped both of us out. Slow. Forgetful. Then, for some reason, pretty rude towards the end, like it wasn't empty enough (despite the main feed article about the place in the ocregister.com or latimes.com ) he seemed in a rush to get us out. Pretty rude towards the end to go with the creepy start- no tip earned, which was fine with me. All in all, this place is OK to bring a group of friends or a date, but not really anything that doesn't involve alcohol or distractions. Minus a star for the poor state of the pizzas and goofy server/service. I predict that this place will either improve its food or go out of business. I also predict our server will go back to working graveyard shift at Dennys, and be more in his element there. I dont see myself coming back. I expect more for the location, prices and its customer base. Id rather go to Blaze @ Irvine next time, or my usual spot Sgt. Pepperoni @ Newport.

I loved this place!!! They have an amazing happy hour menu and their food is absolutely delightful! I had their bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer, the Emilia and Vico pizza with my husband (happy hour menu pizzas are a little smaller), then had their sampler plate of bruschetta and all three of them were great, I can't even choose a favorite. We both had a cocktail as well which were also great and our meal was quite affordable. My husband and I will be coming here again for sure. Try this place, it's great!!!

Not sure what pizza tastes like in heaven- hopefully do not find out for a while...in the meantime there is Settebello's here on earth ;) The pizza and appetizers were amazing. Also - our server - Sahil -the King of all Waters - was funny and great with our kids. And he could describe everything on the menu and we loved all of his recommendations. Lastly - the atmosphere was fantastic - actual olive trees planted in the restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

Some of these reviews make me shake my head. If you are looking for your average run of the mill pizza this is not for you. If you want authentic Napolitan pizza (where pizza was invented) there is none better in the US. I have been to several of Settebello's locations and their pizza is always consistent and incredible. This location is the most beautiful I have seen and the pizza is spot on. If you want Z Pizza or Pizza Hut please don't go here! For those of you that have never been to Naples, pizza there is wet (what some here would call soggy), it is unsliced and eaten with a knife and fork. Don't go to an authentic Napolitan pizzeria and then complain because the pizza is authentic. Shaking my head again. Service was great as you would expect. I am a regular at their Pasadena location and actually recognized several of the staff from Pasadena. An incredible experience if what you are looking for is authentic Napolitan pizza and a welcoming, friendly staff.

Very disappointing from the moment we walked in Ordered stuffed peppers and they were sold out at 2:00pm on a Sunday Next wife ordered a glass of Prosecco and the glass had lip stick on the rim and they brought Moskato Next ordered a fall special pizza and they said it sold out due to not having any broccolini I ordered a pizza with no mushrooms and it came to the table with mushrooms so had to be sent back In the meantime I still got my new pizza before my wife ever got her pizza. Crazy They gave us our meal for free but that was not the point. By the way the pizza was soggy Probably won't ever go back!

These guys have mastered the pizza pie Upon entering the restaurant - I felt like I was being invited into a friend's house. Couches and small patio dining tables dotted on each side of the front entrance with wide open sliding windows from floor to ceiling. In the back left corner there was a movie showing what appeared to be the lovely Sophia Loren. Everyone had a smile on their face, including the greeters, mixologists and the chefs. Tonight was a pre party, call for actual opening date. We were seated in a section that had a "4 top" table with comfy leather seats - the ladies in our group chose to view out the windows to the horizon of the Pacific Ocean, conversely the men had laser eye views of the bar and 1000 degree pizza oven. The oven in itself is almost worth a paragraph of descriptions and words that still couldn't describe it - it was best for me to walk up to the glass that allows full view into the kitchen and pizza pre staging area to marvel in amazement - I felt like a kid looking at a puppy in the window. These pizzas aren't ordinary - far from it. Our dinner started with the following drinks: Their version of a Moscow Mule complete with passion fruit was a light compliment to the Misto appetizer order. This was a sampling of Italian style meats, olives and cheeses - served with Focaccia - it gave a great kick start to your taste buds causing the first of many explosions of flavor that you are about to expect for the evening. The ladies ordered a glass or maybe two Prosecco's and a Manhattan Beach - their signature version of a Manhattan with smooth Bourbon made by the mixologist in the horseshoe shaped bar that was to the left of our table. We also snuck in a Brushchetta that was delivered "3 on a plank" perhaps my only complaint for the entire evening - it left one without at our table - or perhaps I could have had some self control, but not tonight. Same consistent flavors without an overbearing garlic that some other restaurant have not seemed to master. Moving into the main course - the Bianca Pizza pie came with Prosciutto Crudo, Arugula, Parmigiano Reggiano, Mozzarella, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I would say that a single slice of this with the thick Mozzarella shavings across the top could have doubled for a "man-style" side salad. Sharing pizza with friends should be fun and not stuffy - the signature Setttebello proves that. Complimented by crushed tomatoes that in my opinion are what make this pizza a masterpiece. The rest of the pie has Pancetta, Wood Oven Sausage, Roasted Mushrooms, Toasted Pine Nuts, Mozzarella, Basil, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. TIP (if you are with friends asked it to be sliced in order to avoid embarrassment at your table) I flipped the "pointy triangle" back to the crust, folded it in half and the rest my friend, is history. Chased down by a Saint Archer Blonde, a light pilsner that didn't fill me up. My co-pilot had a AleSmith Speedway Stout - this has a strong coffee and dark chocolate sensation - due to high alcohol content he sipped it like a baby throughout his dinner We ended the night with an espresso, more Prosecco and what I am sure will soon be their infamous doughnut holes sprinkled with sugar and just a mini shot of Nutella buried like a Christmas present inside this tiny gift - the family style table next to us also had a dessert pizza topped with Nutella that looked to die for, but tonight, these little pop in your mouth morsels - were enough to keep my sugar high rolling through the night. Parking seemed a little tough - but the walk to and from with the ocean breeze only made the end to a perfect night - Cheers to the owners of this now 8th establishment - the consistent delivery and output should be what every restaurant strives for - this new location was no exception. I can see this being a favorite stop for us in the future!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
